Did someone say custom made shoes?!

13 Sep

I was watching TV one morning a few days ago and they were airing a segment about a trend in customised shoes. Apparently there’s a website that allows you to go online and create a pair of shoes exactly to what you want…and then the shoes are actually created and sent to you! How cool is this! And more to the point, how did I, the lover of shoes, not know about this previously?

It got me thinking though, if I were to make customised shoes, what would they look like?…

After thinking this through, I decided they’d probably be hot pink with music notes in black print. The perfect shoes. Combining my love for shoes and my passion for music.

I imagine some people would go crazy with this service, making the most extravagant shoes known to mankind, but for me, simple and combining the things that I enjoy is what customisation is about. Less is more in this situation. Pink, music and shoes is all that’s needed for my perfect pair of footwear.

Although, upon further thought, I realised that every pair of shoes I own are customised in a way. They all bring with them their own memories. The day I graduated uni in my black leather knee length boots. The day I celebrated my 21st with a weekend trip interstate in my red flats. Every pair of shoes have some sort of story linked to them. Even my plain black flats with spikes, their most recent memory is wearing them to meet up with a good friend I had got to know on twitter. And she complimented the shoes which made me smile even more.

Who needs customised shoes when you can have awesome times and hilarious memories in even the most plain footwear!
